Phil Oles Vertical Mill Engine model

This is a model steam engine designed and machined by Phil Oles.  It has a 1 ¼” bore and a 6” steel flywheel.  It has two drain valves of his own design for proper starting on live steam.  A Geneva Drive wheel can be operated as an accessory.  All components were machined by Phil Oles.

This model is pictured on the last page of  "The Steam Engines of Ray HasBrouck" by Village Press.

The name, Geneva Drive, is derived from the device's earliest application in mechanical watches in Geneva, Switzerland.
