Twin Cylinder Enclosed Steam Engine Model

This twin cylinder steam engine model has an enclosed base used as an oil bath for splash lubrication for the piston connecting rod bearings and crankshaft journals.  This design favors a longer life and less maintenance to thse critical bearing surfaces.  The steam chest valves are operated through a geared connection.  A similar design was produced by Stuart in Great Britain as the Sirius model. They were used in WWII to crank generator sets in the field for communications.
